Commercial Litigation

I routinely handle commercial litigation in the Circuit Court and the General District Courts of Northampton and Accomack counties as well as the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk Division.  I was in the litigation department of the largest law firm in the Commonwealth of Virginia before starting my own practice, and I have extensive experience litigating breach of contract and breach of lease issues as well as business torts.  Also, I clerked for a district judge in the Eastern District, Norfolk Division and am very familiar with the federal rules of civil procedure.

Domestic Relations

I routinely represent parties in divorce cases as well as motions to amend custody, child support and spousal support orders.  Also, I can handle drafting premarital agreements and separation agreements as well as uncontested divorce hearings.  The Court holds uncontested divorce hearing every two months.    

Criminal Law

I routinely handle criminal cases in the Circuit Courts, General District Courts and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts of Northampton and Accomack counties, including charges such as malicious wounding, robbery, grand larceny, embezzlement, rape, distribution of drugs, possession of drugs, assault and battery.  My juvenile presentations sometimes involve hearings before the local school board.

Trusts and Estates

I regularly draft simple wills and trusts.  If you have more complicated estate planning needs, I will refer you to a trusts and estates specialist.
